Sure, we all know that texting in movie theaters is pretty crappy behavior…
…but when you’re on a first date, it’s even worse.
Fortunately, a man in Austin who was subjected to his date’s incessant texting during Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has taken action in the name of justice, decency, and plain ole’ manners he’s suing her.
He said that it began about fifteenminutes into the movie and observed, “It was kind of a first date from hell,
He’s REALLY suing her…for the price of the ticket, $17.31. (It was a 3D screening.)
He met her online, and we all know how that goes.
In the court complaint, he said she busted out her phone “15-20” times in fifteen minutes to text her friends during the showing.
He says it’s the principle of the thing more than the money at stake.
While damages sought are modest, the principle is important as defendants behavior is a threat to civilized society, reads the court complaint.
He actually asked her to stop texting. When he did…SHE LEFT THE DATE!
Oh, and she drove, so the dude was stranded.
While people complain about lawsuits all the time…
…it’s clear that everyone was in agreement that this dude should sue the pants off her.
Yup. She really said that in her defense.
I had my phone low and I wasnt bothering anybody.” Clearly, she was bothering someone if he asked her to stop.
Everyone thinks they’re being very sneaky and inoffensive with their phones, but IT’S A DARK THEATER!
